Visit to China strengthens IOP and IOPP ties with scientific community there.
The Institute of Physics (IOP) is delighted to announce it has formed a new strategic partnership with the Physical Society of Hong Kong (PSHK).
During a busy trip to China, IOP CEO Tom Grinyer attended an event in Hong Kong to highlight the importance of academic partnerships in advancing scientific research and innovation across the world. The event heard from representatives of the City University of Hong Kong, the British Consulate-General, and the PSHK.
During the event, Tom signed a Memorandum of Understanding alongside PSHK President Professor Wei Bao. It covers a range of activities, including a bilateral academic lecture programme, and commits to collaboration on important issues in physics.
Professor Mauro Paternostro, Editor-in-Chief of Quantum Science and Technology, and David Gevaux, a Chief Editor at IOP Publishing (IOPP), delivered keynote presentations to launch the lecture series.
The visit to China further strengthened connections between the IOP, IOPP and the scientific community in China, and included the launch of a new IOPP journal, AI Horizons, in partnership with the Zhejiang Association for Science and Technology.
The launch event was held at the Eastern Institute of Technology in Ningbo, whose President Professor Shiyi Chen will serve as Editor-in-Chief of the new journal.
