Supporting Students with Nexus

About Nexus News

Nexus News is the Institute of Physics magazine for student members of the Institute of Physics across Britain and Ireland. It is sent out termly with Physics World and contains news of the latest events related to students as well as articles written by Nexus members. Most of the articles are written by our students, and we welcome contributions.

Submitting Articles

What would you like to see in a student physicists' magazine? Instead of just suggesting it, why not think about writing it? We are keen to help you develop your ideas into really interesting articles and practice your writing skills to earn valuable experience for the future. We will help you edit them, choose a focus and source suitable images for your piece. In the end, you could get published in a magazine with international distribution and earn yourself £50! To discuss your ideas and arrange a space in the next issue of Nexus News contact the editor (see below).

Submitting News

Nexus News aims to keep students up to date with news that will affect them as physics students. To do this we need to know what is going on in departments around the country that you think physics students should know about. We are eager to hear your suggestions for stories we should investigate for our news pages and each suggestion that leads to a published news story could earn you £20!

Photographs for Nexus News

Ideally text should be accompanied by a picture. Photographs need to be electronic and of a reasonable quality in order to reproduce satisfactorily (usually 300 dpi). If no images are available, the editor may decide to source related images from elsewhere.

Electronic Issues

Electronic issues of Nexus News are provided in PDF format and will be available to download here in the near future.
