Physics for the 21st century
20 July 2007

The Institute of Physics is committed to promoting physics and supporting physicists.
Each year the annual review gives us the opportunity to look back at what we have done over the past 12 months to work towards achieving this mission.
2006 proved to be another fantastic year for the Institute of Physics. More details about these projects and how they are developing are featured in the review.
The review also gave us the opportunity to highlight another significant development in 2006 – the publication of the Institute’s new strategic plan for 2006-10, following consultation with our members and other stakeholders. It also highlights achievements in other areas during the year including:

The front cover was inspired by the Schools Lecture for 2006, “Gravity, gas and stardust”. The popular and engaging Schools Lecture Series continues to fascinate students, aged 14-16, throughout the UK and Ireland.
